Arrived in Klaipeda; full of cheese and salami.

I really just took this as it made me think of Dad. I wonder how many people can actually afford a motorbike in Lietuva? Not many, I don't think. Vilnius, January, 2015.

Yes? Vilnius, Lietuva. January, 2015.
The City Centre at Vilnius, Lietuva. January, 2015 Bought myself some Danish leather boots for 30 Euro, yay!
I woke up today at about 4am (body clock is still a bit confused) and went to go on another snow jog. It ended up being a bit of a short snow 'waddle' though, because it had rained and I was slipping all over the ice!

I hopped on a 4 hour bus from Vilnius to Klaipeda. It was great to see all of the different views along the way of; forests, post soviet houses, rural farmsteads and giant advertisements that are falling to pieces.

There was no toilet on the bus and we had one stop along the way, so I tried to manage my water intake appropriately! However, there was wifi on the bus, I guess we all have our priorities. :P I'm still in the habit of grinning at everyone, I think I have had one person 'half smile' back at me, and the remainder of people all look a bit confused.

I had a giggle at the bus station,  When lining up to pay for the toilet, the elderly lady in front of me was taking a while to get together her 50c Euro. So the girl next in line, looked left and right then snuck away to the toilet without paying. I wonder how often that happens? I wonder how much people pay each year to use a public toilet? I've noticed in my travels around the world, that whenever you have to pay to use a toilet, it garauntees that the toilet will be nasty.

This is the best that I could find to make up some lunch today at the bus station:

The cheese snacks have a strange crunchy sausage skin type thing on the outside, but they are growing on me!

One of the University teachers met me at the bus station today which was very kind. I am staying in a University apartment about 15 minutes from Klaipeda University. My room mate is a Columbian woman who speaks no English and no Lithuanian; a rough gig for her but very brave for her to come here. So I was translating between two people in English, Lithuanian and Spanish. My brain hurts a bit now, so I might watch a movie in English this afternoon on my own. I'll go for a walk later to find some dinner, hopefully I can find my way back again. :P

I'll be having dinner with Gvidas, the godson of one of our Canberran Lithuanian friends Jonas. Tomorrow I start the language and cultural studies course at Klaipeda. I wonder who else will be in my class?

Tonight will be my first hot shower and I am soooooo excited!

Iki,

Love to you all.

Xo,

Rasa
